On Friday, 04 September 2026, the Deaf Community of the North West Province launched Deaf Awareness Month through a high-visibility march. The event was organized in strategic partnership with the Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB), North West Provincial Language Committee (NWPLC), chaired by Adv. T. Mokaleng, and received institutional support from the North West Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation as well as SEFALA.
