SEFALA NLU is a structure of PanSALB, established to develop various forms of dictionaries. The name was proposed by the Setswana National Language Board, which was unanimously approved. The analogy is derived from a classic SILO.
In this instance, SEFALA is perceived as a location, rather than a utensil, where grain is kept and stored for a long time. During drought, all living creatures would experience apprehension. Therefore, it is essential to store the grain for it is needed. In this analogy, the grain stored is the lexical terms and their definitions in a safe place called SEFALA Dictionary. As a result, when people or learners are thirsty for knowledge, this is the place to go.
Now, SEFALA/SETNALEU is mandated to deal with the establishment of Dictionaries and terminologies of all learning areas but in conjunction with the other two structures.
SEFALA is a Section 21 company, and as such, is a non-profit making establishment.
